About Me

I first got into hosting and server management during the COVID lockdowns, when playing tabletop games with friends became possible only over the Internet. What started with a VPS and FoundryVTT soon grew into a passion for self-hosting on real hardware as it gave me more control, options for customization and more chances to learn.

Over time, my setup evolved into a small homelab. Besides running a server for RPG sessions, I use it as a file and media hub accessible from anywhere, host a private SearXNG instance, and experiment with locally hosted LLMs (limited to smaller models due to hardware limitations).

I've been using variety of different Linux distributions as my daily system for over ten years, ultimately settling for (at least for now) Arch on my desktop and Debian on my server. I enjoy tinkering with software and automation, lately, I've also been exploring electronics prototyping with ESP32 microcontrollers, building small IoT projects that combine sensors, lights, and code. I've learned the basics of C++ and Python and continue to improve my programming skills in my free time. In the near future, I plan to either resume my Nanotechnology studies or start part-time Computer Science studies.
